‘Angry Birds’ Movie In The Works

Just when you thought last summer’s epic fail, Oogieloves, was the worst thing ever in cinema, here comes an Angry Birds movie. Really Hollywood, this is where we’re at now?

Sony won the distribution rights for the mobile game and have announced they’re planning on releasing an animated movie. Yes, because everyone thought it was going to be live action. There’s already a release date set for July 1, 2016. Hopefully for them, that game is still relevant then.

John Cohen and David Maisel have been pegged as the producers. They’ve also been behind hits like Despicable Me and Iron Man. Their resumes might help this movie be a huge success, or maybe (probably) they won’t. Don’t think this movie is going to stand alone though. This year Angry Birds Toons will be launched and their plan is that it will make people want the movie.

There’s no plot yet, but there’s talk that audiences will finally know why those birds are so darn angry at those pigs. Finally, an answer to an age old question revealed.
