As we all wait impatiently for Larry David to announce whether or not he’ll be moving on with a ninth season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, we at least get to spend some time with the Seinfeld co-creator this August in Clear History, a new film from HBO that David wrote and stars in alongside a killer cast consisting of Bill Hader, Eva Mendes, Michael Keaton, Jon Hamm, Philip Baker Hall, Kate Hudson and Larry David’s Curb comrade, J.B. Smoove.
The almost entirely improvised Clear History is directed by Greg Mottola (Superbad, Arrested Development, Undeclared) and follows Nathan Flomm (David), a broken down former marketing executive that sells all of his shares in an electric car start-up after a fight with its founder (Hamm). Will Haney (Hamm) ends up making millions which drives Flomm, in his anger and humiliation, to move to an island off the coast of Massachusetts and drastically change his identity to the lanate, Rolly DaVore. Haney coincidentally ends up vacationing in Flomm’s very location, giving Flomm the opportunity for a dish best served cold. I’m talking about revenge.
You can view the creatively edited teaser after the jump which features the shaggy Larry David singing Chicago’s “25 or 6 to 4” on a nice drive in a convertible Porsche.
