Will Forte Claims ‘MacGruber 2’ Is Still On The Way

The world of music has been way too quiet today, so we’re supplementing our usual onslaught of video headlines with some film updates you’ll be crazy about.

According to Rolling Stone, former Saturday Night Live star Will Forte is still planning on bringing his sketch-based character MacGruber back to the silver screen.

Speaking with RS about his plans for the character, Forte commented “”June 10th my writing partners John Solomon, Jorma Taccone and I are locking ourselves in a room and writing it. We were happy with how the original came out. I guess you wouldn’t call it a [box office] success but people got to see it, sometimes you just have to be happy with that.”

This is all well and fine for writing a sequel, but what about when it comes time to actually create the feature and deliver it to fans? Speaking on the topic of producing the picture, Forte said “We’ll start it on our own, but it’d be great to have a budget again.”

The original MacGruber was a far cry from the comedic height of SNL vehicles like A Night At The Roxbury, but it did fare far better than The Ladies Man. Would you line up to see this character back in action? Comment below and let us know.
