Adeste Announce Break Up

Orlando, FL post-hardcore outfit Adeste have announced their breakup as of today. Read the full message detailing the careful decision to do so and where they all are headed in life. Under The Gun Review wishes all of the members a happy and safe journey.

Our Dear Friends,

It is with heavy hearts that we are announcing the end of Adeste. After six incredible years together, we have decided to pursue other endeavors. Make no mistake, this decision was not made in haste, nor is it the result of any sort of falling out. Just as it was in the beginning, we’re best friends first, band mates second. Many months of careful deliberation brought us to the conclusion that the time has come for Adeste to hang its hat and call it a day.

When we started this band, we had specific goals in mind, none of which included becoming famous. We weren’t trying to reinvent the wheel or change the face of music. We simply wanted to play songs we love for anyone who would listen, but most importantly, we wanted our music to have a positive impact on people. Based on that simple idea, we committed ourselves to the creation of In Parables. In order for that album to become a reality, we moved across the state together, lived together, worked together, ate, slept, and breathed Adeste.

In November of 2010, we accomplished exactly what we came here to do. In Parables was released, and the response we got was unlike anything we could have imagined. We have forged countless relationships and had many conversations with people telling us how much the album means to them and the impact it has had. People all over the country, and even other parts of the world have shared their stories with us. We never toured, we’re not rich, we’re not famous, but we all agree that Adeste was successful.

A lot can change in six years. Marriages, relationships, careers and interests have a way of taking on a life of their own. It became apparent that, as important as this band is to us, we can no longer dedicate the kind of time it takes to keep going without harming other aspects of our personal lives. The last thing we want to do is make a half-hearted effort at this. When it comes to music, half just doesn’t cut it.

With that being said, we’re going to have one last blowout to celebrate our time playing music together, but more importantly, to thank all of you who have supported us. We can’t even begin to express how grateful we are for the love you’ve shown us. Our farewell show will be July 12th at The Social in Orlando, FL. It’s going to be one for the books so get ready for a party.

Although Adeste will no longer be creating new music, that doesn’t mean you won’t be hearing from us! Keep an eye out for future projects. Songs are being written. Who’s going to play them? What are they going to sound like? Will your dad like them? How do I get rid of this rash? You’ll just have to wait and see.

Love,

Morgan, Nathan, Brian, Jeff, Marco and Jason
