AFI DOCS (formerly known as AFI Silver Docs), released their schedule for this year’s film festival, and the list is filled with what we’re sure will be an amazing lineup of documentary films. Stationed in Washington, DC, AFI DOCS is the premiere documentary film festival on the East Coast, and is also considered one of the finest in the world. Generally, the Oscar winner for Best Documentary has a showing at this festival, so we think that’s pretty indicitave of the high standard that AFI DOCS holds their films to.

While we’re going to have a more in depth look into which documentaries we’re excited for in the coming weeks, some films that highlight this year’s lineup include The Act of Killing, The Punk Singer, 12 O’Clock Boys, and more.
