FACEPALM: Attila Stream “About That Life”

The party metal band everyone loves to debate have released another song that will make teens go crazy while their parents groan in the parking lot waiting for the band’s latest all ages show to end.

“About That Life” picks up right where “Middle Fingers Up” left off, with Attila trying to find a balance between pointless metalcore and underwhelming hip hop directed at misguided suburban youth with cash to spare and poor taste in music. Lines like “My girl rides my dick like a merry-go-round” come across through gut-wrenching screams (or poorly delivered rap lines, in some cases), while the song’s musical structure relies on nothing more than what progression of staccato’d chugs best follows the previous staccato’d chugs. It’s as mindless as can be, and something tells me their fans will eat it up. You can stream “About That Life” at the end of this post.

Before the comments asking me to fellate or otherwise sexually please the now enraged fans of Attila begin, I want to make it clear that I honestly have no negative feelings towards the band members themselves. Art is art, even if I don’t agree with it or “get it,” but that doesn’t mean I am not entitled to an opinion. The artistic prowess displayed on this song, as well as “Middle Fingers Up,” is laughable at best, and the fact kids work horrible fast food industry jobs to afford Attila’s profanity-laced merchandise turns my stomach in a number of ways. There are a million bands worthy of your support who are just as fun and aggressive without boasting such a self-involved, “fuck everyone who is not me” attitude along with it. Find those groups and support them. Please.

Jesus christ could you actually do an unbiased review? You are nothing more than a hating piece of shit. If you don’t like it fine but then you go as far as to hate on the fans? Real big of you James. Grow the fuck up I don’t see ATTILA fans running around hating on other shit or working fast food jobs to afford shit. Wipe the shit from your eyes cunt.

I agree you’re entitled to an opinion. And I honestly don’t care for what they’ve released from this album, but there is a big difference in being entitled to an opinion, and disparaging a fan base you don’t agree with. Lumping everyone that listens to Attila into these negative stereotypes is beyond voicing your opinion and just stepping into the boundaries of spewing unwarranted prejudice. That same “holier than thou” attitude Attila boasts in these songs is the same personality you present, so I don’t see how you’re better than them when you seem to share the same opinion. If you can’t cover an article without such a derogatory, clearly biased view, then just don’t even bother. And maybe reconsider writing articles at all if you’re going to just put people down like that. It’s more fucked up than anything Attila does really.

And maybe instead of saying there’s better bands out there that are just like Attila, try actually suggesting some? Everyone is so quick to diss everyone’s music taste yet few out there actually seem to give a fuck enough to turn people with “shitty taste in music” into well rounded fans of the genre.
