According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance is back in the cockpit making exciting new music of his own.
“I am working on music,” Way tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I don’t quite know how to describe it or what to call it or how to put a name on it, if it’s a band or solo thing. I’m not even dealing with that. Right now, I’m trying to figure out what I want to do and what the universe needs me to do.”
My Chemical Romance announced their break up late in March. Way was pretty vocal about the ordeal and helped provide comfort for MCR fans around the world. With this new project, it seems a new spark has been lit within Way.
“What I’m doing is super organic and completely pure, and I’m positive the longer I continue doing it, it will stay that way. It’s connected deeply to what I was before I started My Chemical Romance and had that adventure. It’s more connected to who I really am…”
Aside from his music, AltPress.com is reporting that Way has been busy working on The True Lives of Fabulous Killjoys, a comic book he co-wrote in conjunction with MCR’s final album, Danger Days. Expect that to be released on June 12.
Additionally, an episode of The Aquabats! Super Show!, directed by Way and guest starring his brother, Mikey Way, will also air in the coming month.
