WEEKEND BOX OFFICE RESULTS: June 7-9

The Purge Still

Things are in a bit of an awkward phase right now within the film industry. Seeing as how Man Of Steel is set to premiere next weekend, we’re currently experiencing this lack of heavy hitters for the summer season while still seeing films like Fast & Furious 6 and Star Trek Into Darkness leaving their respective marks in the eight digit range weeks after their premiere. For now, The Purge sits atop all of the others with over $35 million made in estimated gross income, and Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson’s The Internship is lagging behind in the #4 spot underneath F&F 6 and Now You See Me.

UTG’s James Shotwell recently reviewed The Purge, click here to read it. Our list of estimates for this weekend’s box office numbers were provided by Box Office Mojo. Follow the jump to read the top ten in its entirety.
