Set against the furious riffage of I The Mighty’s latest efforts, the video for “Failures” blends emotional storytelling with visually engaging performance footage to create a memorable five-minute clip that speaks volumes. Themes of alcoholism, depression, the economy, and the ever-tense environment of a broken home leap from the screen thanks to beautiful direction and strong acting, but all that takes a definite second to the immediate catchiness of “Failures.” All in all, this is the complete alt-rock package.
