First ‘300: Rise Of An Empire’ Trailer Looks…A Lot Like ‘300’

Did you love 300, but wish there were more boats? If so, you’re in luck. March 2014 is going to be the month all your dreams come true.

After being stuck in movie limbo for years, the completely unnecessary 300: Rise Of An Empire is finally headed to theaters early next year. The first trailer found its way online today, and aside from some flashy teases of battles involving the sea, most of what we see looks an awfully lot like a thinly veiled re-hash of the original. Our male protagonist is now a female, and the set pieces are even more larger-than-life than before, but as soon as the action starts there is no denying what it is you’re about to see. You can view the trailer below.

For those wondering just what battle will be depicted in Rise Of An Empire, the official synopsis reads: The Greek general Themistocles battles an invading army of Persians under the mortal-turned-god, Xerxes.
