Jonny Lang Streams “We Are The Same”

Hot on the heels of his new album announcement, rock and roll innovator Jonny Lang has released a stream of a new song entitled, “We Are The Same.”

The first song to surface off Fight For My Soul, not to mention his first proper single since 2006, “We Are The Same” finds Jonny Lang channeling elements of funk and 70s soul-pop into his unique brand of blues rock. When it kicks off, the track feels destined for dance floors and radios, but as it progresses the whole affair expands to a larger-than-life anthem about equality and striving for better by working together that somehow infuses you with an overall feeling of positivity. Add to this an intoxicating guitar solo and near-choir like backup vocals and you have the recipe for another fan favorite that will surely kill in a live setting. It’s not a vast departure from Turn Around, but it does wet our appetite for a new album. You can stream “We Are The Same” below.

Fight For My Soul is currently scheduled for a September 2 release in Europe and the UK. Unfortunately, no US release date or label has been announced at this time. Follow UTG on Twitter for the latest news and updates.
