Matt Nerney Leaves Sideshow, Posts Letter To Fans

Rhode Island’s Sideshow have been making appearances on the UTG news feed for years now, but this morning marks the first time we’ve hard to share sad news regarding the band’s ongoing journey to the top. As of early this morning, June 12, Matt Nerney is no longer a member of the band.

Taking to his personal Facebook page this morning, Nerney broke the news to fans while expressing a desire to pursue other interests in life. You can read his full letter below:

So it saddens me to announce that I will no longer be apart of Sideshow, I didn’t want to write a sappy status but its necessary for my friends and family to know that this decision was not only one of the most difficult, but one of the most important decisions I have ever made. I leave these four guys because I seek something different in life. They are the greatest group of musicians that I will ever know and i’m so happy I could spend the last 7 years of my life with them. Its going to be a new and exciting chapter for both of us and I will always be Sideshows number one fan. I love all of you and appreciate everything you have done.

Sideshow will be continuing on in Nerney’s absence. The band is currently scheduled to appear at the July 13 date of Van’s Warped Tour and are rumored to be working on new music. Stay tuned for additional updates in the coming weeks.
