WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: June 14-16

Let’s be honest: was this really a surprise? Man of Steel made a major hit at the box office this weekend with early estimates coming in at an astounding $113 million dollars. Because of that, the film went on to hit the new all-time record for the highest grossing film for the month of June, knocking out Toy Story 3 from its previous number one spot of $110 million. Regardless of the fact that This is the End premiered on Wednesday, the apocalyptic comedy still managed to reach the #2 spot of this weekend’s highest grossing films with $20,000,000 in gross sales.

Our reviews for the two films can be found right here and here. Follow the jump to see the full list of this weekend’s highest grossing films, which were provided by Box Office Mojo.
