RIP: James Gandolfini Dies of a Stroke

It is with great sadness that we report American actor James Gandolfini died today of a fatal stroke in Italy [Deadline]. The 51-year-old actor died while attending the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily.

James Gandolfini is best known for his portrayal of Tony Soprano, the mob boss of the hit HBO television series The Sopranos. He also had notable appearances in films like True Romance, The Man Who Wasn’t There, and last year’s Killing Them Softly.

James brought a lot of wonderful characters to life, our favorite being Tony. His last film, Animal Rescue, is currently done shooting and in the post-production phase. Our hearts and condolences go out to James’ family and loved ones.
