Stream New Last Chance To Reason Song, “The Escapist”

Just yesterday, Last Chance To Reason announced their brand new album, Level 3, will be released August 6 via Prosthetic Records. You can pre-order it on their Bandcamp page. Now today, The Contortionist have announced that Last Chance To Reason’s vocalist, Mike Lessard, will be permanently joining them as their vocalist as well after the departure of Jonathan Carpenter earlier this year. Lessard will be balancing both bands and we wish him the best in doing so as we’d hate to see him leave either.

Amidst this flurry of news, Last Chance To Reason have unveiled the first new material from Level 3 and you can stream it right here. For anyone like us that have been anxiously craving new LCTR since Level 2, we can tell you that the wait was well worth it, but we’ll let you decide for yourself. You can stream “The Escapist” via black and white video after the jump which is also streaming exclusively over at AltPress today.

Regarding the new song/video, the band comments, “We’re stoked to share our new video for ‘The Escapist.’ We shot this awhile back with our buddy Corey Norman, who also directed the video for (‘Level 2’ track) ‘Upload Complete.’ The song centers around culture escaping from a bleak dystopian future into the freedom of imagination found in virtual reality.”

We got to play the band’s Level 2 video game on their tour with Scale The Summit and Protest The Hero back in 2011 but if you haven’t had the chance to nerd out with it, go play it here.
