The Contortionist Announce New Vocalist

It was a sad day for TC fans when it was announced that Jonathan Carpenter would be leaving the band earlier this year. His mix of vocals helped define their sound and it was hard to imagine anyone taking his place, but today, The Contortionist have announced that they have indeed found a replacement in Last Chance To Reason vocalist, Mike Lessard. We have to say, if there was anyone who could do it, Mike is the man. He has a similar range of highs and lows and has already filled in for Jonathan on tour.

Last Chance To Reason just announced their new album yesterday and have some tour dates coming up but Lessard will in fact be touring with The Contortionist from September 13 through October 25 in support of Between The Buried and Me for their ‘Future Sequence Tour‘ alongside The Faceless and The Safety Fire.

After the jump you can view statements from TC guitarist Robby Baca and their new vocalist Mike Lessard regarding his joining of the band. You can also check out an exclusive interview with Lessard over at MetalSucks where he reveals more details about the news.

“We’re very excited about this announcement. The run of dates we did with him as a fill-in were a much needed breath of fresh air. He brings to the table all kinds of new dynamics that will help fuel the progression of the band’s sound onto the next record and onward.” – Robby Baca

“I’ve been a friend and a fan of the band for a long time, so these are exciting times. I can’t wait to hit the road and the studio with these talented gentlemen. I believe this to be the start of a beautiful experience.” – Mike Lessard
