WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: June 21-23

MONSTERS UNIVERSITY

One of the biggest debates in Hollywood leading into this weekend was the question of who would come out on top between Monsters University, the highly anticipated prequel to one of Pixar’s most favored films, Monsters Inc., or World War Z, a film starring Brad Pitt and based off of the Max Brooks horror novel of the same name.

Well, now that Sunday’s come around, Box Office Mojo has reported that monsters have truly beaten zombies to the ground, with a 15 million dollar gap separating the two from each other in the number 1 and 2 spots. Further on, the list continues in an order almost identical to that of last week, with Man Of Steel pulling in over 40 million dollars at #3 and This Is The End following shortly behind.
