Ladies and gentleman, one of pop’s living legends has returned.

Sir Elton John has announced plans to release his thirtieth studio album, The Diving Board, later this year. All other album announcements planned for this afternoon might as well push to Tuesday.

The first solo release from Elton John in seven long years, The Diving Board will arrive in stores on September 16. John began the album in 2012, but pushed it aside to focus on promotional commitment he had with other projects.

According to Idolator, a listening party for The Diving Board was held at a small venue back in February. The rest of us will have to wait to hear new music, but in the meantime can enjoy a brand new video released by John this morning to promote the album.
