UTG Photographer, Corbin Alvae, recently stopped at NYNY in Chesterfield, MI to catch Cincinnati band, Decker, and Michigan natives, Rival Summers.

This past Friday, I stopped by one of the local venues to catch Decker along with my good friends in Rival Summers. First off, Decker have created some amazing buzz the past couple months. I was super excited to see them live, especially after Jane was featured on The Voice recently, making a performance from them even more anticipated.

The show began with a handful of unknown Michigan local bands to get the mood going. Following those sets, Decker hit the stage. As soon as Jane started singing, boy did my heart rate skyrocket. What a voice! That alone caught my attention immediately, despite already knowing how amazing Jane’s voice was due to previously hearing her other band, Belle Histoire. Decker performed tracks off of their latest EP, Clean Hands. It was evident that the crowd wholeheartedly enjoyed their performance. Something not to miss when Decker is in your town!

After that, Michigan natives, Rival Summers, took the stage to melt faces as they always do. I’ve had the privilege of knowing Leo since I ran a clothing company back in the day and every single performance of his I’ve witnessed, whether acoustic or accompanied by a full band, has always been more amazing than the last. Leo and the rest of Rival Summers did an absolutely phenomenal job! The crowd sang along to the majority of their tracks, which is always great to see and hear. Rival Summers is another act not to miss when they’re in your town, so be on the look out!
