Almost out of nowhere, the Pixies released new music yesterday when the world wasn’t ready for it. Listen to “Bagboy”, their new song which has an accompanying video directed by Lamar + Nik, and don’t feel responsible for any pent up emotions you may let loose. “Bagboy” is the first new material from the band since they released “Bam Thwok” in 2004 and just one of the many incredible surprise releases of music we’ve seen so far in 2013.

This news comes just after the announcement that Kim Deal has left the band. It sounds like Deal is on the track, but Black Francis confirmed that Deal in fact did not sing on the song. “It does sound a bit like Kim,” Francis said on a forum, “but it’s my good friend Jeremy Dubs, one of the best people I’ve had the pleasure to know, both socially and professionally.”
