Dane Cook Announces ‘Under Oath’ Tour

Not too long ago it seemed like Dane Cook was everyone’s favorite stand-up comedian. Then he started to receive backlash and people pretended they never laughed at anything from his “ISolated INcident” tour. Well despite the Boston backlash he received for not live-streaming his set from that benefit show, and all the other hate he’s gotten, he’s giving it another go with his upcoming “Under Oath” tour.

“Under Oath” is a weighted title and there’s no doubt that Cook will cover any and everything, including all the negativity that’s surrounded his name over the years. “As a comedian, I am obligated to tell you the truth, my truth,” he told PopWatch, “To share with you my beliefs, my perspective. And I think that we forget sometimes that that’s the oath that comics take, that we will go up and share everything — the irreverent, the scary.”
In the years since Cook shot to fame, he’s done questionable movies with Jessica Alba and Simpson, failed at TV and didn’t quite make it to Broadway. He told PopWatch that’s okay though as long as he’s got stand-up, “It’s wonderful to still be able to step up on that stage. It feels like the first time I’ve stepped onstage [every time]. It feels exactly the same. It doesn’t feel better, it doesn’t feel worse. It still feels like my safe haven.”

Cook said “Under Oath” will be like his first CD, Harmful If Swallowed, so it can’t be that bad, right? When it comes to the Boston controversy, he hopes to settle that by donating all the proceeds of that last show in Beantown to the One Fund, which assists those affected by the April bombings.
