In a world where notable music icons adorn clothing made of meat (not to point fingers), it is nice to occasionally be reminded that some of our favorite musicians are still, for the most part, grounded.
So is the case with The Black Keys, who recently shelled out $300 to sponsor an Ohio little league baseball team, who have since been deemed the West Akron Black Keys. Even cooler, the duo additionally provided each child on the team with an undisclosed amount of cash to put towards their college funds, and agreed to autograph every jersey once the season ends.
According to TMZ, lead vocalist Dan Auerbach played for the West Akron Baseball League as a child, and was ecstatic when a board member presented him with the opportunity to sponsor a team. Regardless of motivations however, kudos to The Black Keys for being both stellar musicians and admirable role models.
