Pusha T Delays ‘My Name Is My Name,’ Claims It Will Be The Best Album Of 2013

G.O.O.D. Music member Pusha T has pushed back the release of his upcoming solo album less than two weeks from the originally scheduled release date.

Sitting down with Power98 to discuss all things music, Pusha T revealed in a new interview that My Name Is My Name has been pushed back “a month” from its July 16 release date. He offered no further specifics as to when fans can expect the release to hit shelves, or what exactly caused the last minute delay. He did, however, have this to say about the quality of the final product:

“But at the end of the day, I still stand my ground. That’s politics and logistics. My album is the best album of the year… I think the streets are going to have a classic hip-hop album. My Name is My Name is definitely the hardest album that’s going to come out this year for sure.”

Pusha went on to reveal that Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, Kendrick Lamar, Wale and Future are among those that contributed verses on the album, while Swizz Beatz, Kanye West, Nottz, Pharrell and The-Dream are handling the production. He also claims Cruel Winter is not happening anytime soon.

Numbers On The Boards” grew on me in time, and “Who I Am” was a hit out the gate, so I’m still completely on board for My Name Is My Name. Some will probably hate on Pusha for his ego, but everything he’s claiming is nothing new from the guy who helped give us Lord Willin’ over a decade ago. If it’s truly his best release to date, My Name Is My Name may in fact be the best album of 2013. Stay tuned for further updates.
