Korn Announces New Album and Release Date

It sounds like Korn is going back to when they were at their best on their new album.

Remember when Korn fell into the grasp of dubstep on 2011’s The Path of Totality? Well the new album is The Paradigm Shift, and they’ve reunited with one of their original guitarists, Brian “Head” Welch, so this shift definitely means heading back to when Korn did what they do best. That’s according to Welch.

He recently told Rolling Stone, “I’m a metalhead. I love rock music and I came here just wanting to do the old Korn vibe with a new twist. Me and Munky have been playing guitar together for eight years, so we came in just wanting to jam out with the bass player Fieldy and Ray [Luzier], our drummer. … The end product is a really good mix of old Korn mixed with some new elements.”

Singer Jonathan Davis didn’t talk so much about being a metalhead, but did mention he was in a different place while writing the The Paradigm Shift. After his recent stint in rehab, he was at “a new level.” He also said their upcoming record is his favorite Korn’s ever done.

Fans can expect The Paradigm Shift  on October 1.
