It’s just a fact that history likes to repeat itself. In the same way that Monsters University was the highest selling movie for two weekends in a row earlier this month, Despicable Me 2 has done the same, according to estimates. Grown Ups 2 also made its mark, pulling in $42.5 million, slightly less than $2 million behind Despicable. However, Pacific Rim, the most recent film released by Guillermo Del Toro, fell slightly behind at $38.3 million, proving that sometimes life isn’t fair when it comes to big budget giant robot vs. giant monster action vs. terrible sequels done by some actors that are past their prime.
