Panic! At The Disco Announce New Album ‘Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die’; Stream Lead Single

After weeks of teasers and message boards filled with rumors, Panic! At The Disco have confirmed plans to release a new album later this year.

Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die! is set for release October 8, and its first single “Miss Jackson” is available now on iTunes. The song, whose video you can view at the end of this post, references Janet Jackson’s famous “Ms. Jackson if you’re nasty” line on the hook, and uses its verses to showcase a more conventional songwriting style for the group who burst onto the scene with song titles that often doubled as complete sentences. That’s not to say the metaphors and wordplay have been forgotten, because they certainly haven’t, but it’s clear with “Miss Jackson” that P!ATD have a few new ideas up their sleeve.

We have only spent about thirty minutes with “Miss Jackson,” so it’s likely our opinion will change in time. After you listen, comment below and let us know your thoughts on Panic! At The Disco’s latest.

In addition to confirming their album plans, PATD also revealed a slew of tour dates this morning. View the full routing following the “Miss Jackson” video.

“Miss Jackson” is my new favorite song, if the songs on TWTLTRTD are going to be in the same style as this song I am going to fall in love with the album.
