John Mayer Debuts “Wildfire”

Modern rock icon John Mayer is letting his country side show with the release of his latest single, “Wildfire.”

Released to coincide with the launch of preorders for his forthcoming album, “Wildfire” is the second song off Paradise Valley to surface in as many months. Like “Paper Doll” it debuts alongside a cinematic lyric video, only this time the song has 1000% more slide guitar. You can stream the track at the end of this post.

Though there will always be people who think anything resembling country is considered “bad” music, I think Mayer has a potential smash hit on his hands with “Wildfire.” If he can find a home in the heart of country radio stations, it may be possible for Mayer to take his career even farther than he already has by tapping into one of the most dedicated audiences in entertainment. Comment below and let us know your thoughts on “Wildfire.”
