Nine Inch Nails’ ‘Hesitation Marks’ Has Four Different Covers

Nine Inch Nails have made quite the comeback this year, announcing a new album, Hesitation Marksdue out September 3, the new single, “Came Back Haunted” (which also got a music video directed by David Lynch), and a tour with Explosions in the Sky and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Now it turns out the new album will have not one, not two, but four different covers.

The album covers were designed by artist Russell Mills who also did the art for 1994’s The Downward Spiral. The pieces of cover art were made with plaster, oils, acrylics, wire, and other traditional materials as well as “blood” and “earth” according to the press release. Each album cover comes with a different format of the release: vinyl, digital, CD, and deluxe CD.
