STREAM: The Blind Boys of Alabama ft. Justin Vernon – “Every Grain Of Sand (Bob Dylan Cover)”

Much like Jay Z, it seems like Justin Vernon wants to get his hands in on just about everything. Apart from Bon Iver, Volcano Choir, P.O.S., Gayngs, The Shouting Matches, and Kanye West, Vernon has taken gospel group The Blind Boys of Alabama under his folk arms by producing their new album, I’ll Find A Way, out October 1. But, of course, he needs to get his own voice in there, too.

The group do a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Every Grain of Sand” which is quite impressive, even if you normally don’t give gospel a go, which features Justin Vernon singing along. Listen to the Dylan cover over at Pitchfork.

No word yet if Vernon will be joining the Blind Boys for any live dates. Meanwhile, Volcano Choir, the Wisconsin musician’s side project, just released a new single the other day called “Byegone” which you can listen to here. They’ve got a new album along the way and a tour set up, as well.

Which of his numerous projects are you a fan of? Do you think Vernon knows how to work gospel? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below!
