The Conjuring surely beat the expectations of many this weekend, seeing as how it outperformed the two other movies that released with over 40 million made in domestic gross profits. On top of that, the James Wan directed picture finally took the highly coveted #1 spot that Despicable Me 2 held onto for two weeks straight. Although it had an early premiere this past Tuesday, Dreamworks’ Turbo came close to Despicable, with Red 2 and R.I.P.D. trailing far behind.
