STREAM: Balance and Composure – “Reflection”

Indie/emo dudes Balance and Composure have put up a new track off their upcoming album, The Things We Think We’re Missing, for streaming. The song, titled “Reflection”, has already garnered praise from its host site, Pitchfork. Give it a listen here.

The song starts out how you expect the Doylestown, PA quintet to sound — until they rush in with a much fuller sound than we’ve heard before. It slams down pretty heavily, but the drums keep things from dragging and lead singer Jon Simmons’ vocals keep the deep bass from sinking. If “Reflection” indicates anything about the new album, it’s that they’ve taken their time nailing production and there’s no age limit on this music.

The Things We Think We’re Missing will be out September 10. Pre-order it through No Sleep Records or Hassle Records to get exclusive color vinyl (available from both labels who do ship worldwide), then pick up the other merch they have like watches and banners (seriously).

Catch Balance and Composure on tour with Title Fight this fall. Check their tour dates to see if they’re coming near you.
