I See Stars Explain “Electronic Hardcore Music”

If you have ever listened to I See Stars, you would know that their music is heavily influenced by EDM. While there are plenty of fans of this genre and style of music, there are also a lot of critics out there. As a part of prepping fans for the release of their upcoming album, New Demons, the band decided to release a brief statement on this specific genre of music (EHM). You can read what they had to say by taking a look below the jump.

Well, if you do happen to be a fan of the band, be sure to catch them on one of the last dates of Warped Tour. If you are in the UK, you will be able to check them out while they’re on the road with The Word Alive in December. Take a look at their Facebook page to see if they will be playing in your city soon.

We aim to break the walls down between EDM and Hardcore cultures around the world. We believe these two worlds are far closer than meets the ear and eye, and use this opportunity as a platform for new ideas and music to flourish. We aim to retain the human element and live performance of music, while embracing the vast skill that DJs and producers around the world have used to revolutionize music forever.

We are the fans in the crowd, the dreamers who walk away from these concerts with ideas bigger than ourselves. EHM is not a genre, but a fresh new mentality in which we will aggressively and precisely humanize the beast with up and coming talent and a heavy hitting exclusive headquarters.

there is a band called trap house rave that is like this too, except they are more hardcore and use electronic trap music and stuff. its not my cup,but people seem to like it.

I haven’t heard of them, but I’m not surprised there are other bands out there doing similar things. There aren’t really original ideas anymore. Someone got the idea from somewhere.
