Watch Pixies Alternative Video For “Bagboy”

Boston rockers Pixies were so psyched to release their first single in nine years that they couldn’t just leave it with one music video. “Bagboy,” which the band released for free and pretty much unannounced at the end of June, now has a second music video by Kestrel Media. Get ready for lots of chalk-like sketches by Vaughn Oliver that enhance the grungy guitar almost like clockwork. Watch the video after the jump.

As they explained to Rolling Stone, they didn’t plan on having two videos for the single. “Once we saw both of these, we knew we didn’t want to use just one,” said frontman Black Francis. “They’re so good, so creative, and each in its own way, and both made by up-and-coming filmmakers.”

Just to remind you of the excitement for this track, “Bagboy” is the first new material from the band since they released “Bam Thwok” in 2004. It doesn’t feature Kim Deal since she left the band, but it still sounds like the band we’ve all grown to love. If you’re in Europe, then make sure to hear them play the song live on their tour.
