Experimental pop group Volcano Choir, led by Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon, have just released the video for their single, “Byegone.” The video, directed by Michinori Saigo, is pretty minimal. We’re talking light fixtures placed in a tree switching on in off and closeups of leaves. Apart from being pretty, it does work well with the song’s swelling anthem-like buildups. Check it out after the jump.

“Byegone” is the fourth track off their upcoming album, Repave. With only eight tracks total, it looks like it will either be short and to the point or a dive into longer instrumental sounds (considering the rest of the band is Wisconsin’s post-rock group Collections of Colonies of Bees, the latter does seem likely). Repave will be out via Jagjaguwar on September 3 in the U.S.
