Dan Aykroyd Performs “Born In Chicago” On Fallon

This may be the best non-news item of the week. Elwood Blues is alive and well, my friends, and last night he made a rare appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s late night show.

Introduced by Fallon in a grandiose fashion fit for a legend (which he is), Dan Aykroyd made a rare late night appearance last night that included a very Blues Brothers like performance of “Born In Chicago.” Backed by the roots, Aykroyd appeared in all black with a harmonica in his hand and proceded to rock the house with a sound as timeless as his legendary comedic work. You can view the appearance at the end of this post.

Some of our younger readers may not appreciate how special this performance is, but for people who have been impatiently waiting to learn if Blues Brothers 2000 was the final chapter of Elwood Blues’ journey this post may very well make their week. Aykroyd made no mention of plans to bring his beloved alter-ego back to the silver screen during his time on the show, but we can still dream, can’t we?

For more footage from Aykroyd’s return to late night, head over to The Laugh Button for a handful of additional clips.
