Jamie xx’s Upcoming Mixtape Will Include Four Tet

Jamie xx, electronic DJ, producer, and member of The xx, will be releasing a mixtape in the future that features a handful of friends, including Four Tet. As FACT notes, the solo mixtape–which can barely be called that–will see his bandmates from The xx on board as well as Kieran Hebden. In an interview with The Japan Times, Jamie xx explained more in-depth what can be expected of the mixtape:

“I’m just making loads of music basically. Making it with some friends and with (The xx bandmates) Olly and Romy, and eventually it’s probably going to go into some sort of mixtape but I don’t know when it’s going to come out. It’ll just be ready when it’s ready.”

Meanwhile, Four Tet will be putting out a new full length LP titled Beautiful Rewind later this year. So far one song, “Kool FM”, has been released for our listening pleasure, so go ahead and give it a listen here. It’s less atmospheric than most of his work, but still working bass and samples in a way that soothes your ears.
