Canada’s got a great list of musicians that rarely disappoints. Yes, this is coming from a biased fan who is more than in love with the entire Arts & Crafts label, but Vancouver’s new band Said the Whale is making a name for themselves without having to boast their Canadian blood. Their rising single, “I Love You,” sounds like Spoon‘s Britt Daniel if he were doing karaoke. Now a new image can come to mind when you hear the song since they’ve just released an official music video for the song. Give it a watch after the jump and wave good by to Britt.
Heads up, the video is completely tongue-in-cheek. Watch as band members brave a multilevel obstacle course, Japanese-style (think Sasuke or Most Extreme Elimination Challenge), in a parody of a parody (of a parody?) chock full of campy images. Fun times, indeed.
Said the Whale’s I Love You EP is out now via Hidden Pony/Caroline Records. Pick up a copy if you haven’t yet from their website and then watch the video for a second time (as if you weren’t already going to).
