American Hi-Fi Are Back With “Killing Time”

Boston pop punk group American Hi-Fi are coming back into the spotlight, this time with single “Killing Time.” The group’s website now has a Soundcloud link to the song live on their page, which you can listen to here.

The song sounds pretty in line with what you can expect from the group, shrouded in darker guitar and less pop vocals from Stacy Jones. It’s easy to imagine the song popping up on Guitar Hero or Rock Band, a song simple enough to catch on to and definitely one that can get stuck in your head (although “Flavor of the Weak” and “The Geeks Get the Girls” still hold the top ranks).

“Killing Time” will be off of their upcoming album, the follow-up to 2010’s Fight the Frequency, and may sound different considering they signed to a new label, Goomba Music. According to their Twitter, it won’t be long until the album comes out. Not much else is out there, detail-wise, but be sure to stay tuned for more.

Fun fact: Miley Cyrus‘ band shares three quarters of the same members of American Hi-Fi. That  means it’s not entirely out of the question to hope they’ll cover “We Can’t Stop,” right?
