Sleeping With Sirens Donated $10,000 To Pay Medical Bills Of Cancer Patient

Want to know how to get critics off your back for selling “polaroid” packages for $80? Donate some of that money to pay for the medical bills of a cancer patient after weeks of public criticism! Sleeping With Sirens announced that $10,000, which was taken from some of the money earned from the $80 package you could purchase to meet Kellin Quinn and get a picture with him, has been donated to pay some of the medical bills for a fan of the band, who happens to be a 16 year old cancer patient by the name of Antonio.

I think it’s awesome that the band has donated money for such a great reason, and I am sure that this young man is grateful beyond words. Now with that being said, am I the only one who finds it strange that no one has mentioned before now that some money would be donated to anyone? This seems a little too much like a PR stunt driven by all the negative criticism Kellin Quinn and the band has received over what’s been dubbed the “polaroid package.” I hope that’s not the case, but it sure looks like it. What are your thoughts?

Take a look below the jump to see what SWS had to say, and for a link to a video about Antonio.

Got a chance to meet this amazing dude at @vanswarpedtour this summer! He’s so kind, and hopeful, and everything that I could only to be!

If you paid 80 dollars for a meet and greet/ Polaroid for the fall tour, then you helped raise over 10,000 dollars towards Antonio’s hospital bills :)

Thank you so much for supporting not only our band, but also an amazing human being keep up the fight against cancer!

PR stunt for sure and let see that means they made a whole lot more then 10K off meet and greet packages because I doubt they donated like 75% of the profit that came in.

Oh yeah I totally agree. The first thing I thought when I saw that number was “holy shit.” It’s good to know that if you get enough criticism and outcry you’ll do something good with your money. Wish it always worked that way.

I don’t understand why people make such a big deal about this 80 dollar package! YOU ALSO GET TO GO TO THE CONCERT, SEE KELLIN AND ASK HIM WHATEVER QUESTIONS YOU DESIRE, THE CD AND A PICTURE. He would never ask 80 dollars for a picture and you guys are being pathetic. Thank you so much Sleeping With Sirens or doing this amazing thing for this boy with cancer <3
