Rewinding time is always too much fun, especially when it’s in the vein of home videos. Today lets look at Chance the Rapper throw down verses in his high school’s music room. Two clips have just surfaced which appear to have been shot on the same day in May of 2009 (assuming they were recorded close to when they were posted on YouTube), making Chance (called Chano in the videos) just barely 16 years-old. Now let the freestyling begin.

The songs are different than Acid Rap; we’re talking xylophones and drumming in place of heavier sounds, but his freestyles are as you would expect it from a rapper who was, at the time, working his way up (hey, Mega Man). It’s all in good fun. His rap battle with Monster Mike may be a little wishy-washy, but he’s quick to spit verses back.
