Are you ready to “Shout At The Devil” one last time?
Speaking with RollingStone recently, Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil revealed the band is in the early stages of planning a farewell tour for 2014.
“We’ll do one more time around the world and kinda call it quits,” Neil said. “It’s just that time. We’re going out on top. We don’t want to be some band that people are like, ‘Oh, they’re playing a club now,’ that kind of band. We still sell out arenas, have stadium stuff and things like that, so let’s go out when it’s a big deal.”
Neil went on to mention that new music from the band may surface before the final dates begin, but made no promises. He also added that the band would indeed be calling it quits for good, saying “We’re not going to say farewell and then try to get people to come back again in a little while.”
Motley Crue formed in January 1980. Since then they have written a slew of hits, gone to rehab more times than arguably any band in existence, and somehow through it all managed to stick together. To see them go will place a great deal of sadness on our hearts, so expect a few columns in celebration of their careers in the months ahead. We’ll keep an eye out for tour dates and let you know as soon as more information regarding the end of Motley Crue becomes available.
