Between The Buried And Me Ask Fans Not To Buy Their Old Music

Between The Buried And Me parted ways with Victory Records in 2009, which was shortly after they released The Great Misdirect. They signed with Metal Blade Records, and have been on their roster ever since. Funny thing about that, unfortunately, is that the contract allows Victory Records to proactively sell the band’s products from when they were on the label. Considering BTBAM are so popular still, I can imagine why Victory would want to profit off their name. According to BTBAM, they don’t see any of that money either. Because of this, the band has asked fans not to buy any of their music before their EP The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues. That, and the label apparently has the right to take the music they made, and repackage it as something new, which is what prompted the band to speak out.

Victory Records is releasing Snapshot, which promises “10 great songs” and four collectible pictures of the band – presumably promo pics from when they were on the label. The band hasn’t spoken up much on their relationship with Victory, but you can see what they had to say about this new release by taking a look below the jump.

Just so everyone knows, we have a merch button at the top of our page that is a listing of all our OFFICIAL merch stores. Please don’t bother buying from anywhere else as it does not in any way filter through to us, nor do we have control over the quality of the product.

Also, I know our fans are smart enough to know that if there is a new release coming out that we haven’t advertised, then we obviously have nothing to do with it and again it is only profiting some third party that has no association with the band. We’d be more than happy if you just downloaded our old (ie: pre-Parallax) music and just continue coming to see us live.

Again, OFFICIAL BTBAM recognized merch sites at the button below and at the top of our page. THANK YOU! See you all soon.
