UTG PHOTOS: SILVERSUN PICKUPS (8/8/13)

Under The Gun sent Head Of Photography, Kellie Gannon, to the Agora in Cleveland August 8 for Silversun Pickups.

Silversun Pickups headlined The Agora in Cleveland recently with direct support from Mona, who are originally Ohio natives. Silversun Pickups are always a joy onstage, both from their intense sound and presence.  I had the pleasure of catching them the last time they came through Cleveland and their set was immaculate. This show was no different!

Silversun Pickups took the stage strong after an amazing set from Mona (not pictured). Returning to the stage with them was bassist, Nikki Monninger, who is happy to be back touring with the band after having twin baby girls last year. Nikki was absent at the previous SP show I had attended, glad to finally get a chance to see her work her magic live.

If you have never been to a Silversun Pickups show, you are undoubtedly missing out. SP puts on an incredible live show, with their classic deep sound resonating even more so against a backdrop of swirling colors of light and a captivated audience. Their set was filled with songs off their most recent 2012 album release, Neck of the Woods, as well as from their first two albums. SP cult favorites including “Panic Switch” and “Well Thought Out Twinkles” were a highlight of the set, eventually ending strong with the always flawless classic, “Lazy Eye.”
