The work day is over and we want to relax as much as you, so how about we have a little fun with a classic track that everyone loves?
If you love the 90s, you are no doubt very familiar with a hip hop group known to the world as House Of Pain. In 1992 they topped the charts for weeks with a single called “Jump Around” that would soon go on to become a staple of urban music, and tonight one member of the group has released a new version of that classic that you simply have to hear.
Everlast has been a predominately folk artist since he re-emerged on the music scene in the early 2000s with Whitey Ford Sings The Blues, and it’s because of that interest in often acoustic-driven music that brings us together this evening. On Tuesday Everlast released his new album The Life Acoustic, which features a dozen tracks performed with only an acoustic guitar, and buried near the end of the record is a new version of “Jump Around” that adds a fun twist to the timeless party anthem. You have to buy the album to call the song your own, but you can stream the track at the end of this post.
I don’t know about you, but I love Everlast’s work in the folk music realm. This new take on “Jump Around” may be a bit jarring at first, but on repeat listens you discover it has a groove all its own that is just as enjoyable as the original. Comment below and let us know your thoughts on the track.

Not one mention of the cover art’s inspiration which is better than the album itself. Shame :)
I don’t know if I would say it is better than half the album, but it is pretty damn good.
