WATCH: Kye Smith Drums His Way Through Epitaph Records’ Entire Catalog

I noticed this video going around today and after ignoring it for a couple hours or so, I found myself getting intrigued and checking it out with intentions of giving it a minute or two of my time. It only took a few seconds before I was hooked and soon realized that I had watched the entire 20-minute video.

This video features drummer, Kye Smith, who I admittedly had never heard of before this, but upon minimal research I found that these medley covers are nothing new for Smith. He’s taken to YouTube to produce quite a few in fact, including a Fat Wreck Chords release medley and a Blink-182 medley as well. This Epitaph Records endurance medley seems to be a more ambitious undertaking, however, as the label has been active for over three decades and their massive catalog spans many genres including punk, pop, hardcore, and even hip-hop. Flawlessly tackling several bits of tracks from acts like Millencolin, Bad Religion, Brand New, From First To Last, Converge, Sage Francis, Parkway Drive, Pennywise, NOFX, Bring Me The Horizon, and Frank Turner, Kye Smith not only displays his prowess as a drummer on his killer sounding kit, but showcases the vast and historic release history of the iconic record label that is Epitaph Records.

If you have 20 minutes to kill and love music in general (you don’t have to be a fan of these bands to enjoy the vid), you should definitely check out Smith’s work. Between his dedication to the music, which shows in his playing and his swag-plastered drum room, and the versatility in Epitaph’s catalog, this medley compilation is a must-watch for any audiophile.
