’50 Shades Of Grey’ Casts Lead Roles

Women everywhere were set into a frenzy this holiday weekend thanks to the official casting announcement of 50 Shades of Grey with Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam scoring the lead roles.

There’ve been rumors for months about who would play the lead male. For some reason people would not stop placing actors from The CW in the role; The Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder and Arrow’s Stephen Amell. Of course now we know neither of them will play Christian Grey. Son of Anarchy’s Charlie Hunnam landed the part. He plays a biker on a hit TV show, so will this damage his cred? He already wears leather on his hog, so bondage isn’t that far of a stretch, right…?

Then there’s the matter of the leading lady. Dakota Johnson will play Anastasia Steele. Every woman in the world is likely fuming that they’re not her right now. If her name doesn’t sound familiar, that’s okay. You might recognize her face from 21 Jump Street or Ben and Kate. Well maybe not that one since Fox canceled it too soon last year.

50 Shades of Grey is set to hit theaters August 1, 2014.
