Lola Monroe is the Nicki Minaj destroyer urban music has been waiting the better part of a year to hear. Her style fits nicely with the chill-yet-driven feel of Taylor Gang associates Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, and Chevy Woods, but has a distinctive sense of self-awareness that makes it entirely her own. “B.B.,” which is basically the conservative friendly way to market a song actually titled “Boss Bitch,” serves as a fitting introduction to her sound without giving away everything she has to offer. Appearing alongside Monroe on this track are labelmates Juicy J and Chevy Woods. Both offer above average bars, but neither take the spotlight off Monroe. This is her time, and they’re just here to help get the word out.
