Canada Denied Danny Brown Entry, So He’s Never Performing in the Country Again

Once upon a time, Detroit rapper Danny Brown was making his way up to Canada for a series of live dates in support of his upcoming album, Old (out September 30). Fans were excited because of all the hype the record had been getting. But then, with papers in hand at the border, the young rapper was turned around. It seems past convictions will haunt you forever, and the hip-hop dude was refused entry for that very reason.

With the help of Twitter, Brown explained how he was denied access to perform in the country. Heading up to Calgary with “all this paperwork” done and cash in hand to get in, Canada wasn’t going to budge. It’s pretty obvious that the matter is out of his hands at the point, but just to set things straight, he’s decided he’s given up hope of ever playing there again. “That’s a wrap on Canada,” he said. “My past continues to haunt me.”
