Hardcore Documentary ‘Something In The Water’ Launches Indiegogo Initiative

The brother-filmmakers Chris and Nick Lilli have launched a Indiegogo campaign in order to finish shooting and producing their film Something In The Water, a documentary which will examine the Long Island hardcore scene since its inception in the 1980s.

Inspired by the Lilli’s personal love for the music scene which they were actively a part of growing up, the documentary features the insight of many genre forerunners, including Fugazi’s Ian MacKaye and Taking Back Sunday’s Eddie Reyes, among others. You can catch the filmmakers’ mission statement, as well as the films full teaser, below:

“This film will tell the story of how the scene began with its early pioneers, continuing with the explosion of its popularity, and showing where the scene stands today. The most significant bands, musicians, and those responsible for creating the scene will tell their story of how they turned nothing into something, and how they took their influences and love for hardcore/punk music and made their mark on the genre.”

Like what you’ve seen? Help Chris and Nick Lilli finish what will no doubt be a stellar documentary by contributing here.
