New ‘Godzilla’ Creature Design Revealed In Foreign Promotional Poster

Godzilla is a cinematic icon who has undergone a variety of evolutions in his lifetime. The original films relied on suits and toys to create believable disaster scenarios, but in more recent installment the costumes have been replaced by CGI and in doing so allowed filmmakers to create truly monstrous digital terrors that tower above cities like deities with temper tantrums. Only a handful of people have seen what the upcoming 2014 Godzilla feature will hold, but this morning a new image from Brazil may offer the first official look at the beast.

Before we go on, let me say that Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures are rumored to be unhappy about the release of this image. We are posting it now because we know a good number of you are interested in the upcoming Godzilla feature, but may be forced to pull it if someone requests such action.

A popular Godzilla themed podcast known as Kaijucast has posted a photo online that they claim reveals the design of the legendary creature for the upcoming major motion picture. The image was supposedly submitted by a user the refer to as “Fernando,” and he claims he captured the shot while visiting a licensing expo in Sao Paulo, Brazil. You can view the photo below.

Godzilla will not open stateside until summer 2014, and as we mentioned above only a handful of people have seen any footage at this time. The actions of Warner Bros to cover up this image leads us to believe it is indeed an accurate depiction of the monster, so comment below and let us know if you think he lives up to your expectations.

If that’s the final design. It looks like Godzilla all right. Will make the 98 film one to shame.

  2. Gabe says:

Even if it’s a leaked photo of Godzilla Legendary & Warner Bros should not worry if this will affect the movie. All I have to say after hearing what direction they are taking this film and seeing this awesome Beast is, This is GODZILLA! Story and all, what Godzilla is all about!! MAY 16, 2014 CANNOT COME FAST ENOUGH!!

  3. Dean J.Rubino says:

Looks like thier going in the right direction.Godzilla looks good, but not 100%. Something is lacking in this photo. Maybe it’s the two larger size fang-like teeth missing from the front. I’m really happy they seem to be focused on the 80’s,and 90’s image of Godzilla. Really looking forward to the new movie!

  4. Azyral says:

He looks 100% amazing! A little bit similar to the old one, but more modernized.

  9. Joey Kurosaki says:

He kind of looks like Zilla so it’s like alright I guess but i don’t care I just want to see Godzilla fuck shit up!

  10. Lars Anderson says:

    Looks a bit too conventional

  11. Drahc says:

Face too kind and gentle. Eyes too calm. Where’s the Anger/Rage? (Is
this ‘Godzilla & The Hendersons’?). Lower jaw still too big /
‘tristar’. These Gills and fish scales suck: Should have ‘Godzilla skin’
texture instead (throughout; no differently textured ‘dragon
underside’.) Dorsal spines too thin, not nearly trademark ‘Godzilla
Spines’. Good blue/grey colour, though. But this design needs a lot of changes before production/filming. I doubt they’ll really use something as Family Entertainment / ‘Dizney’ as this. Where’s the Grey Spectre of Nuclear Doom? No nukes = No Godzilla! Godzilla is the grim spectre of impending Nuclear Distruction. Nuclear Rage!

Have you seen the trailer, this ain’t no Disney there’s dead bodies all over a beach with a smashed train…. Plus it’s a poster, probably not accurate to the actual thing
